Our History

Mary Queen of Heaven School opened its nineteen classrooms to six hundred and twenty-four students on February 1, 1951 under the direction of Sr. M. Georgiana, O.P. with twelve Dominican Sisters of Sparkill serving as faculty.

From the opening of the school doors until the present day, Mary Queen of Heaven School has presented a challenging academic environment concurrent with its goals in an ever-evolving educational system. Ideally, a student of the school has developed not only the academic skills in a variety of areas, but has appropriated an understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith and has incorporated such values and beliefs into his/her own life’s experience.

In 1960, recognition of the value of Catholic education was presented in the ideal of our faith, “To Teach as Jesus Did.”  It is a credit to the present and past faculty that they have recognized the uniqueness of the individual and have provided a vision and mission that strive to impart learning within the religious nature of the school.

Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Academy founded in 2015 and entrusted with the mission of educating students, spiritually, academically, socially and physically, placing emphasis on skills and tools necessary for success in today’s diverse society.  We strive to maintain a Christ-like atmosphere of respect, love and concern.
